Lapped Joint Flanges and Stainless Steel Flanges (Gr. 304, 304L, 316, 316L) are available from Rishabh Industries in a variety of grades, materials, and finishes, and in both metric and inch sizes. These Lapped Joint Flanges are produced in India and Asia and meet Slip On specifications. They are made of a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, duplex steel, monel, hastelloy, and copper nickel. Lap Joint Flanges are similar to other types of industrial flanges, but it does not have a raised face. Lap joint flanges are used in conjunction with a “Lap Joint Stub End”. The total initial cost of a lap joint flange along with a stub end is around one-third higher than that of comparable welding neck flanges.

Lap joint flanges have a lesser pressure holding capacity than welding neck flanges, and their assembly's fatigue life is only one-tenth as long.Typically, piping systems that must be regularly dismantled for inspection and cleaning employ the lap joint flange with the stub end assembly. These flanges are not welded or otherwise attached to the pipe; rather, they slide over it. The pressure of the flange on the back of the pipe lap (Stub End) transfers bolting pressure to the gasket.
